leading a happiness workshop @ Flowland

I'm so grateful to have been invited to lead a Happiness Workshop and share some of my original, fully plant-based, and refined sugar-free sweet treats at this year's edition of Flowland.

Flowland (Instagram, Facebook) is an annual artistic event that has been taking place since 2016 in Tarczyn, a village in Poland's region of Lower Silesia, in the beautiful Bobr Valley Landscape Park (Park Krajobrazowy Doliny Bobru).

The Flowland initiative (organized by OP ENHEIM) is built around the concept of "slow life" and the preservation of the natural and cultural heritage of the historic village of Tarczyn and the nearby region. As part of their mission, each year they organize the Flowland picnic that transforms the rural setting of Farm Number 13 into a vibrant art event and community gathering. It’s a showcase for invited artists- featuring art exhibitions and performances- and various vendors, particularly those who are local creators and producers of organic food, emphasizing eco-friendly and sustainable practices. Each year, the visitors also have an opportunity to participate in various workshops organized as part of the picnic.

The entire event is designed to promote culture and art, while encouraging visitors to embrace mindful living, intentionally slow down from the daily hustle, and find a sense of balance within themselves and connection and flow with the nature around them.

I was incredibly pleased and honored to have been invited to contribute to this mission this year, not only by sharing healthier and more sustainable sweet treats but, perhaps even more importantly, by leading a workshop where we explored simple, practical and (modern and ancient) science-based tools for increasing our levels of happiness. Keeping in mind that there is no one-size-fits-all solution, we tackled various strategies for effective stress management and discussed the role habits play in our life. We talked about the difference between the useful autopilot mode and the one that can be very detrimental to our well-being. I introduced several different techniques and strategies for sustainably implementing healthy, intentional habits and provided science-based evidence for how that can contribute to significantly boosting our overall well-being and helping us achieve a greater sense of inner balance.

As always, I could have talked about it for days, but I am glad I was given this wonderful opportunity to spend at least a couple of hours promoting this information (that I myself have been learning, implementing and teaching for the last few years) and thus hopefully empowering the workshop participants to take a more active role in increasing the quality of their life in sustainable ways that are accessible to anyone regardless of their age, gender, profession or the amount of money in their bank account.
